Cheese Making Workshop Oct 21 from 3-6pm in Sparks, OK

SAY CHEESE for Homestead Community Day! Join us on Saturday, Oct 21st from 3-6pm in Sparks. This month, we're excited to host a free CHEESEMAKING workshop where you will learn how to create your own delicious gourmet cheeses at home, with simple pantry ingredients and no fancy equipment. You'll even get a tutorial on how to make a DIY cheesepress for a fraction of the cost of purchasing one! Learning this rewarding ancestral skill is so much easier than you think.
Join the Sparks Fire Chief as he discusses wildfire behavior and how to protect your family, property and animals by preventing and preparing for wildfires in rural areas. Hear about volunteer fire departments responses to wildfires and how you can help them help you save property and lives.
This free monthly event is designed to build supportive relationships within the local homesteading community, which includes anyone interested in pursuing a more self sufficient lifestyle through topics like gardening, food preservation, survival skills, foraging, animal husbandry, soapmaking, and more! Participate in wholesome family activities, enjoy some good food, and learn new skills, all while connecting with other likeminded folks in your area.
Have any farm fresh foods, produce, baked goods, books, tools or other items you would like to donate, sell or trade with the community? Bring them along! Three Ring Ranch will be running the free book swap table, where you can find free educational materials to enrich your home library.
A potluck style meal will be served from 4:30-6pm. As always, this event is totally free, but donations are welcome and will go towards supporting the Sparks Fire Department for the vital service they provide for our community.
